On the Move: SAP appoints Mueller as chief innovation officer

SAP SE has appointed Juergen Mueller as chief innovation officer (CINO), charged with driving the company’s innovation efforts.

Mueller, 34, has been head of SAP’s Innovation Center Network since September 2013, and managing director of SAP Labs Berlin since June. He will continue in these roles while taking on his new responsibilities.

The SAP Innovation Center Network operates from nine locations around the world, creating new growth businesses for SAP by “pioneering new markets and disruptive technologies such as machine learning, blockchain and future enterprise applications”, a statement by the company said.

Prior to joining SAP in 2013, Mueller was co-representative of Professor Hasso Plattner’s research chair at the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) for Software Systems Engineering in Potsdam, Germany. He holds a doctorate in IT systems engineering.
