Pune-headquartered IT consulting and product engineering firm, KPIT Technologies, has completed its go-live implementation of SAP Business Suite on HANA for chemical manufacturing company, ELANTAS Beck India Ltd.
ELANTAS Beck India, part of the Wesel Germany-based ALTANA group, was seeking to integrate business processes across its diverse operations to increase operational efficiencies and innovation opportunities and to improve governance and compliance protocols, while laying the foundation for its digitalisation. The company, which specialises in liquid insulation for the electrical and electronics industry, also has a strong focus on safety.
KPIT rolled out the ELANTAS Europe SAP template with legal and statutory changes specific to India. The project included implementing the SAP Business Suite on HANA for numerous functions including materials management, finance and controlling, production costing and COPA, sales and distribution, transportation (SD), production planning for process and quality management, environment health and safety (EH&S), and global label management (GLM). KPIT also built interfaces with third-party software to help consolidate the various systems and software deployed at ELANTAS Beck India.
“The robust system deployed by KPIT will help us re-invent our business into a real-time, data-driven enterprise. It will strengthen our business processes end-to-end and subsequently provide the best value to our customers,” said Sanjay Kulkarni, CFO and vice president, Material and IT, ELANTAS Beck India.
“ELANTAS Beck India was looking for a partner to support its fast-growing operations by replacing its systems with a technology platform that allows real-time decision management,” said Sahil Dhawan, AVP, SAP Business Unit, KPIT. Dhawan said he believes his firm was chosen for both its SAP experience and its ability to execute efficiently in the local environment.
“We partnered with KPIT for its consultative approach, critical leadership support and competence in project governance, scope management and on-time delivery,” Kulkarni said, adding that his company sees the potential to continue to work with KPIT for analytics and improving the user-experience of the applications.
